Just two months ago I began my internship in the HR Department at Decide. Here I have been able to appreciate the corporate culture, which I define as young, flexible and committed, and that is what my post is about.<\/p>\n
Everybody is familiar with the similarities there are between sports and business, and specifically between a coach and a leader, and how they work to instil values in their team. And, what are the team values? Simply, that which makes us feel a part of the group, something intangible which, without knowing why, makes us identify with the team. When we support a team we share their feelings, rules, even when we dislike the decisions made or the coach\u2019s reactions, we don\u2019t give up on him and we defend him. And what do we value about Decide? We share the feeling of being a company of highly qualified professionals, where professionalism is outstandin<\/strong>g, but in addition it is combined with good communication and transparency<\/strong>, which makes it easier to work.<\/p>\n The club feeling, which is how I define our corporate culture,<\/strong> is that jumble of implicit and explicit rules which are hard to describe to outsiders. But yes, we know we are engaged, we are fighters and are committed; it is not easy to always remain true since occasional problems or disappointments can arise in our personal lives which are difficult not to transfer to the office. However, overcoming these obstacles is what keeps us together because if one of us fails, the whole group is affected. There are a lot of positive benefits from this style of work and above all, I would highlight the team spirit. In this post I want to acknowledge the teamwork of all the people who make up Decide and which is clearly visible beyond our office\u2019s glass walls.<\/p>\n Our team joins forces to achieve joint results, emphasising our high level of training and dedication to achieve it. Our team is structured like a company: with management (the coach), with strategy, with formations and a point guard to organise the plays.<\/p>\n However, I admit I have found a difference, and that is the competitiveness found among team members in sports is not felt in Decide. It would be incompatible with our value of teamwork and, as they say in football teams, we always try to \u201cstrengthen the locker room\u201d to make sure all players are at ease both on and off the field.<\/p>\n
